What are the Life Sciences?
[Natural Selection] has no vision, no foresight, no sight at all. If it can be said to play the role of watchmaker in nature, it is the blind watchmaker. - Richard Dawkins
The life sciences are, simply put, the study of all living things. From vegetative life to us Human beings, life science comprises all fields of study that involve the living world with few exceptions. The exceptions to this rule are ethology (the study of animal behavior) and psychology, which only fall under Life Sciences when clearly addressing a biological aspect. Fortuately, both of these topics are covered in our "Life On Earth" section.
