'Curiosity' - Mars Science Laboratory
The Curiosity Mars Rover (also known as the Mars Science Laboratory) is scheduled for launch in late 2011 and arrive at the red planet by August 2012. Its mission is to determine the habitability of Mars.

The Curiosity rover is expected to last a minimum of one Martian year (686 Earth days) and will use a number of instruments to determine whether Mars was ever able to support (or actively supports) at least microbial life.
